GATHER Michigan – St. Patrick’s Day Edition

Feature Photo by Song of the Lakes

Imagine yourself on the Cliff of Moher in Ireland, or sitting in your favorite local pub with a pint of Guinness or an Irish Mule. The 2020 St. Patrick’s Day festivities aren’t the same throughout Michigan during this unprecedented time. However, we’d still like to celebrate virtually, and your imagination is vital. Please join us for an Irish proverb, some Irish music, and a virtual pub crawl from Michigan based businesses.

Michigan based Folk Band:

by Song of the Lakes

Song of the Lakes is a Michigan Based band. They have been singing the praises of the Great Lakes through their musical career. According to their website, they began in the early 1980s with sea shanties and Irish melodies, but they have delved into other genres as well. They like to call their sound, “Great Lakes World Music.” With a mix of original and traditional songs that are uplifting, their music “will take you to a different place.” The band members proclaim to “live the good life and sing the praises of the gorgeous Great Lakes.” We believe them.

This original song is our favorite and is perfect for your St. Patrick’s Day even if you’ve never been to Benzie County in Michigan. Click on the link below and get up and dance in your kitchen!
